Splined Hinge

With a multiple of small parts and two material types making up the full hinge assembly a variety of setups and processes were used.

By combining multi axis machining with intuitive programming we were able to manufacture the main body using a total of 3 cutters and one setup. By working this way we increased the machining efficiency and reduced the machining time.

The splines were fully machined in one set up with the use of 4 machine tools allowing us to again reduce the machining times.

The End Caps were simply turned and parted off ready for the anodising process.

Once the anodising was complete the parts were sent away for engraving. With this we supplies a jig to enable accurate work holding for the engraving process.
