We were asked if it is possible to reverse engineer a model saddle base that is used to enable our customer to overlaying the base with leather and in turn create miniature replica saddles for model horses.
By 3D scanning the original we were able to recreate a new accurate saddle model by utilising the scan data. Whilst creating the new model we were asked if it would be possible to make some modifications. Once the model was finalised and the modifications were signed off we printed a prototype for our client to check and assess whether any other modifications were needed.
After a final alteration of the model we were then asked to print a couple for finishing with leather. Since this we have also printed saddles at different scales for various scale horse models.
